Walk 17 [5.9 miles] - Stokesay

Our walk started from Stokesay Castle. Once again the weather was a bit overcast, but we we still treated to some wonderful views along the valley as we climbed out of Stokesay.

Lovely views looking back towards Stokesay

our walk continued up through View Wood to View Edge farm where we stopped for elevensies. We then made a slow descent through Brandhill Gutter and Aldon Gutter

one of several obstacles we had to negotiate

where the sun came out and made the lunch break even more enjoyable. Finally another steep climb before descending to Stokesay.

In the car park one of our members found a way of keeping mud from falling onto Mike's carpets.

Guess what Norman wants for Christmas?

Everyone agreed that it was a delightful walk with a great variety of terrain and points of interest. Many thanks to Ian Graves for leading.
